Cary Grant's sartorial New York

Tailor-made Manhattan: step into the tailors, hotel bars, and cigar lounges of Cary Grant's New York — the city that dressed the man who defined style without ever having to say a word.

Day 1: Tailored to perfection

Grant had his suits made on Savile Row, but wore them in New York. Start on Fifth Avenue at the classic menswear shops and walk south, where the facades are as sharp as his lapels.

Day 2: Bars and banter

The cocktail bars of the East Side were his backdrop. A martini in a hotel bar, back to the door, is the most Grant-like act a traveller can perform.

Day 3: The gentleman's finale

Finish with a jazz club in the Village and a late walk through Washington Square. Unhurried. Grant was never in a hurry.
