The edit ·

A pre-owned Omega Speedmaster piece. Buy the piece, not the promise. Condition, provenance and a maker's mark are worth more than a brand name alone.

The watch that went to the moon.

Founded in 1848 in La Chaux-de-Fonds by Louis Brandt. Omega made the Speedmaster, the watch NASA certified for spaceflight in 1965 and which reached the moon on Apollo 11 in 1969.

Omega is the thinking collector's brand: deep history, real innovation, and prices that still trail Rolex while the quality matches it. Vintage Seamasters and Constellations are the sweet spot.

Why it's called that

Omega Speedmaster

Named for speed. In 1965 NASA certified the Speedmaster as the only watch approved for spaceflight, and it became the 'Moonwatch' after Apollo 11 in 1969.

What to look for

Check the calibre number on the movement against the caseback reference. A clean, unpolished case and an original dial carry a real premium.

How to wear it

Let the piece lead. Build the outfit or the room around it, not the other way round.

Asking price

$5,600
